Macbook DHCP issue.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for responding.

Debug 5 output attached. I changed the remote IP address to 5.5.5.5 for privacy. 



Tinc on the remote side has always been set to switch mode. I've tried it in many different forms on the laptop side. It's currently set to hub mode. 
I can rerun the debug for you in switch mode if you need that. From what I read it should be the same. 

I've tried setting the IP by hand with no luck. Can't ping the other side(the remote server or the gateway). 

I don't run or have access to the DHCP server on the remote side, but I'm fairly sure it has not changed. The laptop gets it's IP address just fine when it's local to the site. 

Running the exact same config linux(client) to linux(remote) it works just fine getting it's address. I tried changing the MAC address on my laptop to the MAC of the linux box to see if there was some oddball MAC filtering going on. No help I still can't get an address. 

my tinc.conf file reads: 

Name = laptop
Mode = hub
Device = /dev/tap0

The host file for laptop has nothing but it's key in it. 

The remote server does the connecting. It's behind a firewall. 

The remote server's tinc.conf file:

Name = remote
ConnectTo = late
ConnectTo = laptop
ConnectTo = cranky
Mode = switch

servers hosts file: 

Subnet = 5.5.5.0/23
Address = 5.5.5.5
