connection error by more than 4 nodes

It doesn't matter which node it is. I have this effect tested with other nodes (it's always the fourth).
How can i check running out of memory?

The tinc "server" node is a debian lenny with tinc (from lenny-backports) on fit-pc2 hardware (1G RAM and enough harddisk space).
