As I understand it, there will be a patch in kernel 5.3 that is a bit
more smarter than just passing intel_idle.max_cstate=1 as a boot
parameter. This patch works around some power unit bug inside the CPU
or on the mainboard, and will also probably allow putting the device on
sleep, along with preventing random freezes.

In the meantime, I bought a cheap Thinkpad x230, which is 50% heavier,
much larger but still portable enough, and brought absolutely 0 problem
 with Linux... I still like the tiny TCM, but can't use it except as an
on-the-move emergency terminal.
