Now that my initial thread has been derailed, I may as well add that I'm having to scrap my build server, due to multiple build errors. 😞 The disadvantage of not having a specific guide on * correctly * building a kernel on a non-native machine.

I had tried to build a 4.15 kernel, which got to 55 minutes before crashing - Grrr.
